We’ve just completed a design refresh for one of our clients, Vertica Risk Management. The site incorporates company information, job search, registration and easy job application. The facelift brings the company inline with brand identity and offline marketing.

An open letter to Mike Arrington by Mike Butcher

Sunday, December 17th, 2006

As the dust settles on the TechCrunch saga, Mike Butcher (ex co-editor of TechCrunch UK) has posted a very well written open letter to Mike Arrington, which in my opinion sums up what a lot of people feel about the whole situation. Loic Le Meur has also responded and apologised for his part in what has become something of an online soap opera. Loic’s post is interesting in that it lays more onus, and perhaps blame, at Mike Arrington’s door. Will he do the right thing and apologise for his over-reaction and damning behaviour? Don’t hold your breathe.

The TechCrunch aftermath continues

Thursday, December 14th, 2006

Following Sam Sethi’s dismissal from TechCrunch UK the aftermath continues to reverberate around the web. Mike Arrington is coming out of this looking increasingly flimsy, with a comment that smacks of sour grapes:

If users are this upset over the decision, we can just shut the blog down. We’ll be reading user comments closely in making this decision.

Read the posts below and subsequent comments for more information.

Strange things afoot at TechCrunch UK

Wednesday, December 13th, 2006

It appears Sam Sethi might have left the UK version of TechCrunch, a hugely popular tech blog originating from the US. Sam recently wrote about My Neighbourhoods on TechCrunch UK after it’s launch. Following Sam’s negative write up of Le Web 3 (Loic Lemeur retaliated by calling him an “asshole”), I read the post below via RSS, which was swiftly removed:

Sam Sethi leaves TechCrunch UK

Following yesterday’s post about Le Web and Loic’s retort. It seems Mike Arrington has disagreed with my post and opinion believing my actions to be vindictive towards Loic. What was said between Mike and I will remain confidential but suffice to say I can no longer remain with TechCrunch UK & Ireland. It is a very sad after all the work that has gone into TechCrunch UK and Ireland. I wish all of the UK and Irish entrepreneurs well. I will be personally blogging back at www.vecosys.com and looking for something new to keep me busy. Bye

It’ll be interesting to see how this develops. I didn’t always agree with Sam’s posts but it seems to have gone from a small disagreement to his departure in no time at all, which is a little severe considering the circumstances. Surely blogging is all about having opinions and having people respond to those opinions, good or bad.
